In Australia I bought a commerical building on Diners Club for $2 million and got miles - just negotiate with the seller to take a credit card and negotiate a reduced fee with Amex / Visa / Diners.

Otherwise just shop around for an agent that takes credit cards and you will get points on the commission.

since I am the purchaser, I am not paying the commission. I am looking for a program similar to NW / Delta home purchase program, they offers 3000 miles for every $10,000 of transaction. so if I buy a $400,000 building, I will get back 12,000 miles. but instead of home purchase, I am looking for commercial building purchase mileage programs.

I am suprised that you paid for a property with your credit card. I am a business owner, and I pay over 2% commisssion to credit card companies for each transaction. so again on a $400,000 transaction, I would pay over $8000 in fees.

Email me and I'll give you the name of a trade association that can cut yor transaction costs by approximately another 30 basis points.

Wonder if I can get the general contractor to take credit cards... if not I know I can get the sub contractors to <G>....since I'm about ready to build a building...

I did find a contractor that took credit cards and when I remodeled my kitchen, I was able to charge all of the labor to my card and get miles. Add in the appliances, tile, grout, trim, paint etc... and you get a TON of miles.

That was a score.
