Southwest does. One way travel equals one-half the "cost" of a roundtrip. You can't get any fairer than that, IMHO. And there are no capacity controls in their Rapid Rewards program. If there is a seat available, it's yours! There are a few blackout dates, but fewer than most other airline programs as I recall.

You can upgrade one way on DL. This really pays off when you have a red-eye to Europe and want that comfortable B/E seat. Many of us don't care about upgrading the daytime return flight.

You can upgrade oneway on AA -- I've done that --- went to Biz on the way over - coming back coach was wide open so I sat in the back . I have three seats to myself.
25K miles to upgrade from cheap econ -- to Biz.
A very good deal in my mind.

TANSTAAFL - but if you work it right, FF miles comes pretty close.
