From the posts in the thread, a new member could earn at least 54k points for one stay.
Oi, was eyeing a Radisson in Bangkok on Nov 8. Double whammy.

Can you delay two days? Do you need the stay hit, transfer hit, both, or neither?

I've got 36 already, awaiting for 9 to post, so I wouldn't need it this year.

Anyway, my date is firm and really irrelevant. The T&Cs note the restriction to Radisson's in the US, Canada and the Carribean. While I could argue Bangkok is a sea, it's not the correct sea.

Oops, you're right. I found a $60 rate for next Friday so I guess I'll be visiting a Radisson for the first time in many years. Can someone else check in for you if your flight from BKK is delayed? Would you have to show up at some point on the stay?

If I transfer SPG now, will it post in time to count as a hit?

When I transferred, it took about 5 days to post, but it had the activity date of the day I requested the transfer.

Thinking of doing an SPG transfer; would someone be kind enough to check my math?

Typically I would transfer to AA miles with the 5k bonus for 20k transferred. No SPG status. I value an AA mile at 1.2 cents and US at 1.1 cents.

So, if I transfer the 2500 minimum, my cost would be:

2500 points transferred @ 1.2 cents/mile = $30.00
625 transfer bonus miles lost @ 1.2 cents/mile = $7.50

2500 US miles gained @ 1.1 cents/mile = $27.50

Net cost = 30.00 + 7.50 - 27.50 = $10.00

Double check the T&C - it looks like you have to have the Radisson stay go to points not miles, so you can get the points, but not a hit.

I want the points, and I can still get a hit - as a point transfer - assuming the points credit quickly enough (which I believe is unlikely).

See the T&C that was posted on Mommy Points blog:
http://boardingarea.com/blogs/mommyp...-bonus-points/

It talks about Gold points being awarded. Maybe I am interpreting incorrectly.

Ok, thanks... I did the SPG transfer. That one seems to be much lower cost than the others, assuming you plan to transfer your points to miles at some point anyway.

Your analysis was spot on, combining the value of the miles gained with US Airways + the opportunity cost of losing out on the AA bonus. Someone paid attention in Econ 101 ^

Has anyone had a Hyatt transfer hit their DM account since 4 October?

And has anyone had success or otherwise transferring Hyatt points to someone else's DM account (different surname and address) this year?
