IHG CEO on Terrorism: “Business Comes Back”

In an interview with CNBC Tuesday, InterContinental Hotel Group CEO Richard Solomons said he didn’t think terrorism is “truly disruptive to the hospitality industry,” per the recent attacks on the luxurious Splendid Hotel in Burkina Faso. While the executive did point out that the threats were dreadful, he claims they are not new to the travel business. “We have to try and protect our guests and our employees, but from a travel perspective people respond very quickly,” Solomons said. “Once it has happened people forget it and move on, and business comes back.”
