ANA and IHG Hotels Deepen Commercial Agreement in Japan

All Nippon Airways and IHG will work together to capture more of the Japan travel market, including joint advertising and loyalty program campaigns throughout 2023.
Flyers aboard All Nippon Airways (ANA) and guests of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will see more mutual advertising for each brand, as the two work together to attract new business among those going to Japan.

The two brands announced a new “comprehensive commercial agreement,” aimed at getting flyers to travel aboard ANA and stay at IHG’s portfolio of hotels.

ANA-IHG Agreement Includes Advertising, Loyalty Promotions

The original agreement between ANA and IHG was signed back in 2006, with a focus on mutual sales and marketing by launching a co-branded hotel. With the travel industry coming back and Japan welcoming international visitors again, the two brands are deepening their relationship to keep more customers between their two brands.

Under the new plan, both companies will work together to “help raise awareness of the ANA Group’s airline network and the properties of IHG Hotels & Resorts in and out of Japan,” as well as improve the customer experience. In addition to more advertising on flights and in hotels, the two will also work together on loyalty program promotions.

The first promotion will begin in April 2023, and is open to those staying at IHG properties worldwide between May 7 and July 31, 2023. After IHG One members register for the promotion (link coming soon) and select their earning preference as ANA Mileage Club points, they will be entered into a prize lottery after their stay. Fifty guests will be selected at random to earn 10,000 ANA Mileage Club miles, while an additional 100 will be drawn to earn 5,000 miles. Other prizes include vouchers for stays at 11 IHG properties in Japan.

Additional campaigns are set to be announced throughout the year.

With More Travel Demand, Airlines and Hotels Work Together

As travel opens up around the world once again, airlines and hotels are eager to better keep customers within their ecosystem. In November 2022, American Airlines AAdvantage and World of Hyatt partnered to offer flyers status challenges in time for the holiday travel season.
