On the other side of Mt Inari ( I did the circular route) and it was a lot quieter ( fewer torrii gates). It was here that I stopped and heard abosolutely... nothing ( only a few birds chirpping) which was beautiful and such a change from the crowds at the bottom of the hill. It was a warm day so after the shrine went back to the hotel to freshen up ( and have a cold drink in the lounge). A good idea to carry water with you on the hike also
