PDX Meeting Point?
I'm flying down to PDX from YVR, a colleague is driving. The colleague is going to pick me up at PDX. Where's a good place to meet him? I've never been to PDX before.

PDX is not all that big, and there is only the one main lobby with two (now interconnected) concourses. So if you're meeting inside, the colleague can just be waiting for you after security at the appropriate concourse. If he or she is picking you up outside (lower level) it should not be difficult to find each other. There is a cell phone waiting area. They can sit there, and you can call them when you land, and they can swing arond.

PIONEER sums it up nicely. If you are flying Horizon, you will be exiting the concourse at the A/B/C security checkpoint, which would be to your colleague's left as he enters the terminal. If you are flying Air Canada, you will be exiting the concourse at the D/E security checkpoint, which would be to your colleague's right as he enters the terminal. Everything is well marked.
Short-term parking is very convenient and is $3/hour. Tell your colleague to park on level 4. Otherwise, the cell phone lot/arrivals loop is a decent option.
There are plenty of places to eat/drink landside at PDX if your colleague ends up waiting for you or vice versa.
