Phoenix shopping
We're doing a 4 day visit to Flagstaff & environs to get in some hikes & perhaps a visit to the Grand Canyon.
We'll arrive PHX @ 8:30 PM and it'll probably be closer to 9:30PM by the time we're on the road heading north on I-17 towards Flagstaff. Since it will be past 11PM when we arrive in Flagstaff, we'd like to stop in the Phoenix metro area for some grocery essentials on the drive up. Can anyone suggest where we can find a mall/grocery store located just off of I-17 to quickly grab some stuff and get back on the road?
Another question, is AZ 2 or 3 hours behind east coast time at the moment?
Thanks,
Barry

That wasn't my neck of the woods when I lived there, but the major grocery store chains in PHX are Frys, Albertsons, Safeway, and Bashas. Frys is part of Kroger so if you already have a frequency card for one of their chains, you can use it there. A quick search of their websites should yield something for you. I would recommend looking around Bell Rd. or Union Hills Rd.
AZ is 3 hours behind Eastern time until fall.
I hope you enjoy Flagstaff--that was my home for college and a year after. You should definitely go to Lowell Observatory while you're there.

Agreed. Exit Bell Rd. Turn west (left) over the freeway and the store will be on your left. EZ off, EZ on.

It's a Fry's marketplace meaning it has more than groceries, including some housewares.
Safe travels.

Thanks for the advice. Bell Road it is.
I'm glad we're not going out tonight as the nor' easter that has hit the Philly region is creating havoc at PHL.
