Beaver Creek/Avon, CO dining
Planning a trip for my girlfriend and I in July to Beavercreek. Looking for any recommendations that you may have in the area. We will have a rental car so getting to Vail or other cities is not an issue.
Thanks for the help in advance.

Seeing as you will be there in July, a MUST is Beano's Cabin. It is a restaurant set up high on the mountain from Beaver Creek. To get there you ride horseback (as we did) up the mountain. They also offer a wagon ride or a shuttle bus. Can't reccomend the horseback ride enough and I'm not a rider, too much fun!
more info on the ride and phone for the restaurant. http://vailhorses.com/horsebak.html
once up there, we enjoyed a drink on the outdoor deck looking at the mountain peaks while deer were feeding no more than 50 yards from the deck.
edited to add: oh yeah, the food was very good as well. I believe I had a buffalo steak w/some roasted veggies.

If you make it Vail I would recommend "Sweet Basil" I had a really great meal there about 3 weeks ago. It just to the right after you cross over the wooden bridge.
Its off season ( and a lot of places were closed till early June) the prices were quite reasonable.

We go to the Vail/Beaver Creek area often. The best meals we have ever had there were at Splendido in BC. The crab cake appetizer is excellent and I say that growing up eating lump crab meat. Their souffle is great also, especially the lemon-huckleberry. Other restaurants of note in BC are the Grouse Mountain Grill and Mirabelles. When in Vail we go to LaTour and Sweet Basil.
