Well, I was hiking in the park on Monday and saw no illegal aliens or drug smugglers. Rangers were wearing their usual uniforms - no assault rifles. Pretty sensational article - although I am sure the situation can get crazy at night. The Border Patrol presence in the area around the park was substantial.
Also, I think the 100+ degree heat may have been keeping all but those who really wanted to visit the park away!
