These places are very different.....
Lake Tahoe is multiple areas surrounding a lake.some towns. And others are ski resorts that cater to summer crowd.
jackson hole is the valley between the Tetons and the neighboring ones to the east. Most of it is a national park with park lodging. You have the towns of Jackson and Teton village ( ski resort). On the west side of Tetons there is another ski area grand targhee near Driggs.
jackson ski are is limited if you aren’t experienced skier while Tahoe has more options.
im in Jackson/ Tetons now.

I have been to both - Jackson Hole twice and Tahoe several times - and hope to go back to both.
The two areas are very different. Tahoe is more built up and of course has casinos if you are interested in that. Jackson is more small town / rural, but has Grand Teton NP near by. I’ve skied Tahoe several times, and the variety of resorts and terrain is huge. Heavenly Valley alone has pretty much every type of skiing you would need. I haven’t skied Jackson Hole, but what I’ve heard echoes what djp98374 said - it’s best for more advanced skiers.
Depending on what you are looking for, both have a lot, but different things to offer.
