PHX Sky Harbor T2 will be demolished

It is now official - the easiest terminal in the USA from which to park and go will disappear in the next couple of years.

T2 was easily the most efficient commercial terminal I have ever used, even though it didn't look like much. Even after 9-11, you could still get from your car in the garage to the gate in less than fifteen minutes fairly regularly on a normal business day.

And there was a time within the last decade when you could still use a jet ramp from the close gates at T2. The last of a breed of 1960s-era business terminals. Get in, get out, get on your way.

I'll believe it when it happens. I lived in Phoenix from 2003-2010 and as far back as 2004 there were articles about it its impending demolition. I believe that terminal will outlive us all

I have no love for T2: low ceilings, outdated food options, crappy lounge, etc. I'm looking forward to the upgraded T3.

I don't go to an airport to eat or admire the ceilings. Wilbur is right about the easy access from parking. Even the economy lot is adjacent.

Still not as convenient as ABQ, where one can easily walk to the terminal from several nearby hotels.

It looks like the History of the City of Phoenix mural will be relocated from T2 to the Rental Car Facility:

Anyone know how I can get my hands on the Bonanza airplane tiles in the bathrooms and the shower room once the demolition begins?

I haven't been at entire T2 yet. The entire T2 is very small terminal and it's very old terminal.

Soon, all airlines will moved to entire T3 once T2 is closed.
