Best view of Mt. Rainier?

Hi all,

We are traveling on AA 1407 this Saturday from DFW to SEA and returning the next Saturday on AA 2269. Which side of the plane should we sit on to get a view of Mt. Rainier in each case? My wife is a photographer and always tries to get a shot of it from the air.

It all depends on the weather/winds as to which route the aircraft will fly on a given day. But in general sitting on the left side going into SEA and the right side departing SEA will yield good views.

My favorite landing/take-off in the world i think. Such great views.

Took this of the mountain on a recent visit;

I believe that was out the right side of the aircraft, but it's been different on many occasion..

Buy a lottery ticket

Counting on Rainier views in Seattle is a complete toss of the dice, given the cloudiness. I fly AA through SEA every 3-4 weeks, and honestly the best views are typically on departure, not arrival. Most recently I got some great shots from the left side of the aircraft. Arrival shots are mainly night shots (sometimes less cloud), also left side.

I could fill posts with multiple Rainier shots, but none as good as standing on the summit photos (been there 2x).

Thanks. Is it possible to get a reasonable prediction of the "good side" on the day of flight, based on winds, etc.?

And don't understimate the view from the right side of the plane of downtown Seattle if the winds are from the south (i.e. approach from the north). It's no San Diego approach, but sometimes it feels like you're just above the rooftops.

Left side in, right side out.

And presumably you're leaving on AA 2268 as there are no odd-numbered flights from SEA to DFW.
