Interlining from VA to QR
I have an itinerary from CNS-SYD-DOH, with a connection from VA to QR at SYD. The trip on all on one ticket, and there is a 6 hour layover. Can VA issue boarding cards and check my luggage through from CNS? Is there sufficient time to leave SYD Airport and go into the city during my layover?

Who ticketed it? VA or QR?
QR isn't listed as a codeshare/partner airline with VA nor are they listed as an interline/through-check airline. https://www.virginaustralia.com/au/e...line-partners/
You can still ask them to through check your bag at CNS and see how you go, if it is on the same ticket it might still be possible. If you can check your baggage through that would be a big help, because you'll need to transfer terminals at SYD and doing it with baggage is a pain. You definitely won't be able to get your QR tickets at CNS, but that isn't too big a drama.
6 hours should be plenty to get into SYD. Just take the train to Circular Quay and have a look around. There are lots of posts about this in the forum already, quite a common question.

Been to SYD before? With 6 hours between scheduled landing and take off you have about 4:00 to 4:30 hours useful time. Take the train to Circular Quay. If time then a ferry to across to Manly (harbour side) Maybe time to walk 5 minutes to the other side (ocean side) for a meal/coffee/wine/beer and then return. You see the harbour, opera house & harbour. Airport to Circular Quay is about 30 minutes on the train.
