New Virgin Australia International Lounge agreement

Finally an announcement about the lounge network post the NZ split.

Things will get more streamlined thank goodness (believe it or not, this chart is simpler than the old one!). For the most part, this is a partnership with Etihad, called 'The House'. VA also opens their first ever international lounge in Wellington.

I've heard the Etihad Lounge in Sydney isn't bad so I'll look forward to checking it out three weeks from now. Under new management, who knows!

The chart above makes it totally clear to me. The SYD lounge for all VA international flights is now 'The House'. Business class passengers and VA elites in economy are eligible.

So this requires no member ship or annual fees? It's simply open to business class travellers and Velocity elite members?

Correct. Pretty standard for any airline, except some LCC.

It's not bad, if just a tad small around 8 am when folks for both the morning flights are in the area. Food is like a good hotel for breakfast and there were complaints about no champagne.

It is going to be renovated shortly as well.
