SYD Premium Entry
Hi folks,
Flying VA economy tomorrow. I am KrisFlyer Elite Gold member, I understand this will get this and a guest into the lounge, but was wondering if it will also let me use the premium entry (we have no checked bags). I asked a VA rep on the phone and they told me to call SQ service number as 'they would know more'
Cheers,
Paul

Sydney Lounge Premium Entry is available exclusively to Virgin Australia Business Class, 'The Business' guests, Velocity Platinum and Gold members and partner airline reciprocal status members travelling with carry-on baggage only.

I've lost count of the number of times I've seen Chinese tour groups being chased away. Then of course there are the "premium" members who simply cannot comprehend that they can't check their luggage in there. They're "entitled" after all

So if you don't mind a detour and want to avoid the masses at the security lines, take a walk to the Premium Entry after check-in

Maybe more confused than entitled. I've never seen a 'check-in' desk that doesn't accept bags before. Once you understand it, it is fine....

Last Friday afternoon my daughter & her boyfriend checked into for their flights to South Africa via Perth and after checking their luggage proceeded out of the terminal and up to Premium Entry where they went through security and straight into the lounge.

The security line in the premium entry is shorter - 95% of the time at least - than the usual T2 line. The other option is to go downstairs to the Western end of the terminal, nearly the regional departure gates and use the security point there.
I don't know what it is about the main T2 checkpoint, but it is the slowest in the country. Even worse than OOL.

I think it has more to do with the Bogan TT and JQ pax that use that terminal .. I have lost count the amount of times I would go thru and be held up by Shazza and the girls on their way to the GC for the weekend dressed in cheap costume jewelry setting off the security detectors multiple times

I think you're being overly kind. When I say I've seen, that's what I mean - "seen". I've even had comments made to me (as next in line) by the women at the entry point about "It's not the first time for that particular passenger"
