Missing meals: request compensation?
My family is in the US after travelling MEL-SYD-LAX on VA. We made a special meal request at the time of booking (months ago) and I confirmed that the request was on our record. The requested meals were not on the plane; the steward did the best he could with sourcing fresh fruit and so forth but we were pretty hungry by the time we arrived 17+ hours later.
Should I request compensation? What would be an appropriate request, and where should I direct it? I'm silver status on Velocity, but I expect to be gold by the time we return.
