LHR bag drop time in Upper Class
Hi All,
First time flying Upper Class coming up. My flight is at 2pm but I have some work to do and some calls to make before my flight. Timings are such that I will need to do some of this from LHR and from what I’m reading I should be able to find a quiet corner in the clubhouse.
When flying BA in Club or First, I know I can drop my bags off at any time of the day of my flight and head to their lounge. From what I’m reading, Virgin bag drop opens four hours before departure for all classes. Is that correct?
If I can manage to travel hand baggage only and have checked in online, I assume I can head straight through security and to the lounge at any time I like on the day?
Thank you.

Where did you read that bag drop opens four hours before departure at LHR? That may be true at out stations but, unless it has changed recently, you have always been able to check in for any VS flights for that day as soon as LHR check in opens.
With regards to the Clubhouse, that is more complicated - OFFICIALLY, there is a three hour time limit, however enforcement is far from complete - it appears there is enormous discretion; depending on how busy the CH is.
See this thread for more details - Virgin lounge access at LHR T3 - is new three hour limit enforced?

Here is the page that says check-in opens four hours before the flight at LHR: https://www.virginatlantic.com/where...-airport-guide

I wonder if that is a policy introduced at the same time as the Clubhouse restrictions, or a lazy cut and paste from another part of the website?
I would be interested to know if anyone has been turned away from the LHR check ins for being more than 4 hours early.
