Cancelled Flights : When have I got to rebook by?

Cancelled Flights : When have I got to rebook by?
Flights in UC booked with miles LHR HKG 2 years ago . Cancelled multiple times by the airline. 50% off tickets.
This time cancelled flights were due to depart on July 10th.
Virgin will only let me change them to less than a year in advance.
Do i have to rebook by 9th July this year or is there a way of putting this on hold.
Dont particularly want to go to Hong Kong now given our friends have left and the situation. Would be good as transits to Malaysia though to see. in laws but cant do this yet as it would involve separate PNRs.
