Upgraded award seat counted as full fare ticket?

I upgraded an economy award seat BOS-LHR to Premium - it was the relatively empty daytime flight so I got away with the lowest possible bid (200GBP I think). Anyways, I put in my Delta FF number and it turns out that I just got credited the Delta MQDs and miles for a full-fare premium economy leg.

Does Plusgrade always turn your award ticket into a revenue ticket? If so, nice bonus.

No. This is an error that crops up on an occasional basis.

You were lucky this time but don't count on it again.
