Using Flying Club Miles but attaching Medallion Status

Its no secret Skymiles redemptions stink and VS has some amazing Flying Club miles redemptions right now. Can I book JFK to LHR on VS using Flying Club, but attach my Skymiles account at booking so I can keep my medallion benefits?

I can't see any reason why this would be a problem. It's worth bringing along your medallion card just in case there's any hurdles.

Don't book as the VS member. Book for a guest, who happens to have the same name as you (and Medallion status). That should get the status to stick on your booking whilst using VS miles for it.

Interesting work around. Will definitely give this a shot. Thanks!

No luck on the website. Only allows you to put in your Flying Club membership number. Anyone else ever deal with this scenario?

Just show them your card. Far easier and simpler than messing about trying to change your number especially as you’re on a reward flight - it’s not like you’re going to be earning miles.

as it is a reward booking I’d surmise that’s why VS won’t let you change it.

You're right. I tried a dummy booking and VS seems hard-coded into the Frequent Flyer Programme field, even if you don't click the "I am travelling on this flight" button. The trick does work on other airlines though...

As others have said, you can still get your benefits by carrying the card with you.
