New VAA UK credit cards released!
The two new UK Virgin credit cards were released this morning.
Similar to the old cards but Mastercard only. Gold members are the big winners.
Free Reward card:
5000 miles bonus
0.75 miles per £1
241 or PE upgrade voucher for hitting £20,000 in a card year
£160 Reward Plus card:
15000 miles bonus
1.5 miles per £1
241 or PE upgrade voucher for hitting £10,000 in a card year
The 241 is a BA Amex style voucher valid on FC VS redemptions. Valid for two years. However, Red members can only redeem in Y. Silver can also redeem in Premium. Only Gold can redeem in Upper Class.

Note that it is very likely that the MBNA cards will be closed in the next couple of months.

Thanks for the update Raffles. First glance not chuffed, as I am Red now, but will study the options.
One note - Your article linked to above says 1.5 points per £ on the fee card, which is better then the 1 point per £ in your post above.

If needed just say you are travelling and 'need' to take it away with you.

Just a shame that I’d have no use for the BA 2-4-1 in the next few years; not quite sure what my reward credit card strategy should be now.
