VS8 departure delayed today, will I make BA flight connection at LHR?

Just checked flight status for VS8 today and it's showing an estimated departure of 19:30 with estimated LHR arrival at 13:30. I was supposed to connect with BA704 to VIE with a scheduled departure of 14:10. Any chance of making the connection? I have to go from T3 to T1 right? If I miss my connection will BA accomodate me on the later flight? Thanks.

Hi,

As you probably will not have a BA boarding pass issued by VS at LAX you will have to get it at LHR. If the flight is on time the I would have to say it is unlikely that you will make it as it will take time ot leave the aircraft, taker the bus to the Terminal 1 flight connections centre, clear security and get you boarding pass.
However if VS 8 picks up time from LAX to LHR ( likely-possibly up to 1 hour) then you have more chance).
If you have time at LAX you could walk down to the TBI ( two terminals down from VS T2 and enquire at BA so see if they can rebook you on to a later BA LHR- VIE flight.

PS I think the reason for the late flight departure of VS 8 is the late arrival of VS7 from LHR due to Air Force 1 leaving LHR for Teeside to pick up President Bush before heading back to the US resulting in disruppption at LHR.

Good luck

Regards

I knew Bush's visit would affect my flights somehow!

I think I'll take a chance and hope that VS makes up some time across the Atlantic. BA said I could standby for the later flight which looks pretty open.
