Elevate Point Redemption Bouncing Rates?

Was thinking of booking my return flight LAX-JFK when I come back from Australia using points.

First time I checked it was nearly 11,116 points.

Today its down to 7,860 points.

The lowest point redeption available on that route seems to be 6,697.

Does VX ever offer promos on point redeptions? Am I better off booking it now at 7.8k points or should I just book JetBlue now that they're flying out of LAX as well, and avoid $15 luggage fee?

Are you saying that the redemption rate is actually changing from $0.0215, or just that the fare is changing?

wonder if I should gamble further... this month its been 11,542 points for the December 27 and 28th dates I'll be in LA.

sadly when there were sales the day immediately before and after were down to 6,000.

maybe the new JetBlue program due for release in November will have a better option, at least I won't have to pay for luggage.

ARGHHH... should have waited, just a few days before my flight its available at 4,605

I have already booked with JetBlue wasting an old one way award that could have been much better spend elsewhere... oh well!
