Ground Transport

I wonder if VX will ever go the VS route and provide limo service to F pax? Probably not when you are comparing the price of a transcon fare to a TATL...

Perhaps they could partner with local door 2 doors to provide a complete transport service. It is a hassle booking a door 2 door and then trying to coordinate a pick-up when you land (especially after connecting from a 12-14 hr transpac, you haven't been in the US for a few months and your US pre-paid cell credit has expired ). It would be great if you could book it all from the website and the airline could notify the ground transport as soon as the flight landed so the van was waiting by the time you collected your bags.

Do any other airlines offer this kind of service for domestic US travel? I know that Lufthansa has a service in Munich that takes you downtown.. and of course there are the hotel shuttles, but this would be much more convenient. I could see a lot of ppl using a service like that.

What do you think?

No limo service, but CO and DL offer a free helicopter ride from JFK and EWR to Manhattan for certain fares. That said, I just don't see any US carrier offering limo service. Competition for domestic premium pax is not nearly as intense as it is for international premium pax.

I think they should fly to more to 7 cities (and thus have more potential demand for transportation) before they start doing things like this, but it's an interesting idea.
