Good first flight experience

Tried VX for the first time on SEA-SFO. It was a A319 (not the dark one). Bought a ticket in F. I had some expectations and they were all met.

Important to me:

- No old and stuffy FAs! They were quite funny and nice! What a big chance for a US carrier!
- Good seat pitch and comfortable to sit in.
- Food was decent but not great. Not that important to me.
- FA enforced front lav only for 1st class passengers.

Still not as good as Asian regional carriers but the best so far for US carriers. Just wish I could fly them all the time when traveling US domestic!

Not to mention nicer a nicer gate area (A6 in SEA) than the N gates or C/D that UA and AS use. Glad you had a good flight.

100% agreed. My United SEA-LAX was delayed by more than three hours last night. I hadn't left for the airport yet when I saw the delay so I check Virgin and there was a $269 one-way First fare for the 7:05pm departure. I grabbed it and enjoyed my first experience in VX F (I had flown one round trip in Y previously, on the dark 319).

They have the best domestic product hands down. Only minor complaint is that some of the features on the IFE weren't working yet. Max volume was a bit low, too, but I'll try my iPhone headphones next time.

Yes, the free headphones are not good...Volume is fine when I connect my ANRs to the system ;-)
Actually, more often than not, I would prefer to use their headphones, since my bag can't be under the seat in front of me...

They need to do a better job of marketing to people like you. "Once you try Red, you'll never go back to Ted"

Hmm...Maybe I'll add that to my signature

You know what... I noticed this on my last flight too and I don't think I remembered to mention it.

The free headphones are very quiet. Using another set of (iPod) earphones make it much better.

Excellent signature. However, Ted will soon be dead. The planes will be reconfigured back to United's normal configuration soon (1 year?)

So, I'll have a good signature for a year.

Not being stuffy is good, but I'm not of the mind that any particular age range is a requirement for a good flight or flight attendant.

Fair enough, but at least one of the SEA ground staff is young and gorgeous. It doesn't hurt, that's all I'm sayin'.
