I haven't seen any one post on this subject, so I will.
Virgin America has already unveiled the details for their FF program (EleVAte), and it works on dollars spent rather than miles flown, 5 points for every dollar spent on airfare.

Easy to understand and enjoy.
Starting with your very first flight, you'll earn 5 points for every $1 you spend for travel on Virgin America. Then, in the coming months, youll be able to redeem a free trip for as few as 4,900 points. Earn a free flight after as few as 4 roundtrips!

On Virgin America, you will be able to redeem your points for any unsold seat on any flight at any time.
