MCS / First upgrades when booked through AS

Hi folks. Booked and taking my first flight that is a VX route/metal, booked through AS.

In the elevate days, I'm used to getting an automatic comp MCS upgrade at 24h out, then upgrading to F from there. What should I expect for a flight booked through AS w/ 75k status? Anything happen automatically, or should I call in to arrange things?

thanks much!

Log in to virginamerica.com and make sure you "opt in" for MCS upgrade.

No upgrade - but I bought First

Been calling both Virgin and Alaska for months - can I get an upgrade as a MVP Gold and MVP Gold 75K traveling. No, there are no seats available - you must do this at the airport. Arrived for my flight VX1340 today SFO to FLL and ask at check-in, do you have an upgrade? Reply, why yes we do but you need to pay for it?!@#$ Virgin doesn't do complimentary upgrades - what the heck? I can't wait until these folks are on one system with one set of rules.
