First Class Upgrades don't count as Status Points?
It looks like (not certain) fees paid to upgrade to MCS or F don't count as status points.
Does anybody else think they should?
The terms of the Elevate program clearly indicate that "Base Fare" amounts drive status points. I can't find a specific definition of Base Fare, but presume it does not include upgrade fees.
The FAQ on earning status points just as clearly indicates "Any purchased Virgin America flight activity qualifies towards Elevate Silver and Elevate Gold status".
The Contract of Carriage is silent on the issue.
VX's status program is designed to reward dollars spent on travel, as opposed to miles flown, so why not make upgrade fees eligible for Status.
If this is accurate, how do we change this???
