Will be flying Virgin for the first time
After reading the articles and hearing great stories from my Friends and Family who flew on Virgin I had to get on the ball and see what they were talking about.
I was in a Phillz Coffeshop and the Barista was saying how she enjoyed Phillz Coffee on Virgin. I immediately stopped what I was doing and listened in on the conversation. Here I was enjoying their Coffee and now hearing that Virgin serves something other than Starbucks I knew I had to book a flight with them.
I saw all the YouTube Videos about their new Red System and the new Loft at LAX.
Just recently I got an email from Priority Pass saying that The Virgin Loft at LAX has joined the program. Ok fair enough this is reason # 2 to fly with Virgin.
Then I found out Virgin has Google Maps GPS system yet another reason to chose Virgin.
So today I found a round trip airfare to LAX as I have not seen my Grandfather in a few months for $118 roundtrip. Alaska and American were offering flights for $158. Southwest Virgin and Delta were offering flights for $118 for the first week in March.
So I decided to chose Virgin and use the Loft Lounge at LAX. I was looking over their libations menu and heck its better than American's Complimentary Beverages. The Virgin Lounge offers unique beverages such as Veev Acai.
While I'm not in Main Cabin Select its not a big deal as I can enjoy the Loft. Now I'm not expecting a lavish full meal but heck for the Libations they serve with snacks its fine for my purposes.
I'm going to use the Club@SJC before and after my flights as well as The Loft.
Considering United's McCormick beverage offerings are not up with Virgin's I don't know why United can't up their ante like Virgin Does.
I look forward to hearing your opinions about Virgin . As long as I can listen to the Music Channels for Free and watch the GPS map I'm set. I don't really see the need to pay for an AVOD on such a short flight. I love music and watching cars as they make they way on the I-5 towards the Grapevine with Phillz Coffee.
BTW What complimentary snacks do they offer in Main Cabin from SJC-LAX?

While I'm sure you'll have a good flight, the experience is much more noticeable on their long haul routes. On a 45 minute flight, you're going to have more boarding, taxiing, and deplaning time than in flight service. I'm sure it will be rushed. Hope you get your Philz...Getting good coffee inflight (or in the airport for that matter) is definitely not something to take for granted.

I've done a fair number of hops between SFO and LAX on VX, and always had an extremely enjoyable experience. I've used the RED system for ordering snacks on these flights (Pringles, if I'm not mistaken, and one time chocolate chip cookies, but can't say I tried for a meal item), and also found that ordering a drink through RED ended up getting me my beverage sooner than traditional beverage service.
There were no complimentary snacks (do any airlines even do that anymore?), but complimentary basic beverages. I haven't done those hops in a while, but I often found that SFO-LAX on VX was cheaper than any other airline.

SFO-SAN/LAX. Southwest and JetBlue seem to be the only airlines I'm aware
that still offer free snacks in Main Cabin.

Just flew them last weekend. Both ways were full. Average flight crews. Didn't find them as cheery as last experience. Ordered from red menu but was just served from trolley. No snacks were offered on such short flight. There was also quite a lag in the map. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info. No worries about the snack/drinks as I'll go to the Club@SJC before my flight and the Virgin Loft at LAX after my flight using Prioirty Pass for some drinks. I know the Loft's snacks are not what they used to be but heck at least they have something.
Do you know how the Sparkling Wine at the Loft is? Thanks
