Upgrade Question

SFO FLL 10/10 10:45 am

My understanding is that even if i am willing to pay the $110.00 per person, I have to wait until 6 hours before check in . Is this correct? Only a few seats left so I doubt if I would have a chance as I will be unable to check in until around 4pm the day before.

Has anyone ever paid this and taken a middle seat? .Doubt I would do that

You don't specify where you want to upgrade from to or your route, but ill take it as an upgrade to MCS since you refer to a middle seat. It has been posted time and time again but I'll bite. You can upgrade to MCS T-24 hours not 6.(Thats first class which would be $270) As for paying for middle that is your preference. From the price you quoted it is for a long flight so if you would like extra leg room and free food/drink then you upgrade.

Here are the 2 reasons to do it if available. Leg room, if you value leg room than it may be well worth it. Also you will get a free checked bag whereas MC does not. So if you plan on checking a bag, thats money off right there.

Personally in terms of seat, I think the F seat is more worth the money it costs to upgrade than MCS. VX IMO has one of the best domestic F products.

The $110 price says Main Cabin Select to me. That upgrade can be done 24 hours prior to the flight while you're checking in. It's often worth it because of the free baggage allowance and free entertainment and food & beverage that comes with it.

If it's FC, it would be $270 and just 6 hours before.

It depends completely on the flight. I'm sure they probably get snapped up quicker on cross-country flights....

it's worth it if it's worth it

It was $220 for upgrade to MCS or $270 for F. Yea, we picked F. Of course, that meant I had to be up at 3:35am to do it!

24 hours ahead, the upgrade to MCS is $110, not $220.

With more than 24, I was told by phone agent I would have to rebook with a $75 change fee (per person) to upgrade at a $220 additional cost for MCS. With less than 24 I was offered $220 to go to MCS from LAX to FLL. On the phone, the agent said at less than 6 hours it would be $270 for first. Since we were sleeping LAX-FLL we skipped the upgrade.

On the return FLL-SFO during the day, we upped it as we were awake to enjoy food and movies.

Sorry, you were misinformed at less than 24. It is $110. Much better to just do it online and not have to deal with CSRs.
