How can I get a refund?

Towards the end of May I bought a one way ticket SAN to SFO. The flight was cancelled due to weahter and I was put on another filight. I purchased a Main Cabin Select Upgrade for $35. When I got to the airport to checkin I was given a regurlar coach ticket and offered to upgrage to MCS for $35 again. I said I already paid that on the other flight. He said he can't apply it, but it will be refunded in 7 days...

.Well today I check my bank records..no refund...call VA and inquire about. Lady says yes sir you have a credit on your account for $35. Explained I don't want the credit (I'm MSP based) because I never fly VA. She says she will look into and get back to me, but doubts they will refund it. Havn't heard back and it's been about 10hrs. At this point the money really isn't the issue, just burns me that they cancel your ticket/flight and then they think they can keep your money?! Any sugguestions?

AFAIK - VX don't give 'cash' refunds, it is always held as a credit.

That said, they may give a cash refund in certain situations. Has anyone here had experience with this?

Even when they cancel the flight? Doesn't seem right... It's really not about the $35, it's the principal....

Right, I agree - there are some situations where they should (and may) refund your credit card.

Wish I could be more helpful. I'm sure someone will be on shortly with better info than I can give

Of course you should get a refund. It's their own error during irrops problems that caused you to be forced to double-pay. Make sure you talk to "Guest Services" during regular business hours. If you don't get satisfaction, I would dispute with the credit card, telling them you were double-billed.

It's been 10 hours?
Give them a few days to resolve. If after 5 you don't hear back, call for status. If still not resolved dispute it.
