VX Security at SFO?
How is the security line at SFO since December 25th? I know VX is still going out of the Internation Terminal so I thought maybe there was more security now. Should I budget more time for my departure?
Thanks

Is possibly the only thing I dislike about VA right now.
How security is depends almost entirely on the timing of other flights.
If you get a flight that is running about the same time as a megajumbo jet heading to Asia, security can be backed up with lines of hundreds of people, many of whom unfortunately aren't fluent English speakers and not many TSA folks are polyglots. Combine with unfamiliarity with our security procedures here, and it can be a long day.
If there is no intl flight at same time, security is a breeze though, and the terminal is certainly orders of magnitude nicer than Term1 or Term3 at SFO, particularly as regards food and shopping distractions.

I think I found it on flightstats.com and it looks like there is an Emerates and Eva Air 777 departing around then and and AF flight to Paris as well. That's not good. I wish there was a line devoted to VX.

But I would go a early as both VS and BA have 4PM-ish 744 departures from the South pier.

Thanks for pointing that out to me. I forgot about the different piers and I didn't factor in the VS and BA flights. At least I can watch some NFL playoffs if I get there too early.

I'm wondering the same for JFK right now after reading your post.
VX uses the International terminal as well, and I'm not sure how busy the traffic will be for a 7am flight.
I plan to show up 45 minutes before... stupidly enough my printer broke so I will end up checking in at the airport, but with no bags to check the kiosk experience should be painless, I hope...

There is no TSA at SFO.
It is a private contractor (Covenant?) with shirts saying "Team SFO"
Surely VX and the airport authority, with a nudge from us passengers, would reform the security line situation assuming the contractor wants to keep its contract?

No lines at either JFK or SFO... I decided to come out of the terminal to send a post card in San Fran and ended up going through full body scan on the way back to the next flight... the contractor security woman saw me nekkid!

Another question:
The Virgin lounge is located before security ? So that means not much lounge time as my flight from SFO-SAN leaves at 3:30pm

So how long should I allow at that time to get through security.
Cannot easily find a link which shows all flights leaving around that time
