US Passport Survey
I recently received a survey in the mail from the US Dept of State regarding passport services. At first, I thought it must be junk/ a scam. Turns out, it's legit and basically just wanted to know if I plan to apply for/ renew a passport in the near future and how (in person, via mail). It also asked for additional information (gender, income) but allows you to "refuse" or skip those questions.

The letter just said "randomly selected" and was addressed to "Current Resident" at my address (which as been in my family for 100+ years. Not like I live in an apartment complex with high turnover).
My passport doesn't expire for another 3 years.

“Passport demand study” by the US State Department, and it’s been going on for several years. It used to be aimed at about 4k-5k participants per month year round for years and years. A code is sent out to people who receive the survey request that can be used to do the questionnaire online, but it’s a mixed medium survey.
