Anyone Foresee Problems With This Itinerary?
Hi everyone,
It's been a long time since I've posted but I wanted to ask if anyone can see a potential problem with this itinerary:
I am a UK citizen and plan to spend about 5 weeks on vacation in the US this summer. I have a valid ESTA. My itinerary would be an open jaw ticket LHR-SJC then SAN-LHR. I would buy a separate one way flight on a different airline for SJC-SAN, departing about halfway through my stay.
Does anyone see any problems with this? E.g. when I go to SJC to get my one way flight to SAN, might this be a problem with immigration? I'm guessing that as long as I have my SAN-LHR flight printed out it'll be fine, but since I've never done a trip like this before I wanted to ask the experienced people around here what they thought...
Thank you.

Nope. No foreseeable issues. You are able to fly intra-USA with no restriction (of course, have your passport on you for ID) - and there's no immigration intra-USA. You will just be dealing with the airline check-in counter if you have a bag to check, and then TSA (airport security) before you enter the departures area. Both will ask for your ID (passport, in your case)
Keep a copy of your return itinerary with you for immigration for when you land at SJC.
Enjoy your trip.
