Has anyone recently applied for a passport at a consulate & gotten an NGP back?

I've not been able to find any recent data points.

Came back from intl travel on 12/14. Don't plan to travel again til mid-late Feb. Reading the reports on here, I'm taking a chance and doing routine service. I can always upgrade if needed.
I am in south jersey so the Philadelphia PO box is just a few miles away.

I just updated my dates.
I thought about going with the smaller book as I ended up not using most of the larger, but since the cost is the same I didn't see a downside to getting the larger one again. While it's unlikely that my business travel will pick up again due to the beer virus, it can't hurt to have it just in case.

Fast turnaround:

Has anyone subscribed to email updates? I subscribed before they received the application and didn't get anything when they received it.

Update:
11/12 - Appointment at post office for my son, Form DS11 for under 18 above 16. Expedited service
11/16 - state department acknowledgment on the website, check cashed the next day. Locator 53=Seattle
12/22 - Received passport, still waiting for other documents to be returned

yes, never got any updates for any events. Passport received two months ago.

Same -- I signed up for email updates before they received my application and also after they received my application and never got any kind of email.

No update since. Hoping to travel early Feb. and hoping we get some indicator of its status before booking anything.

That's within the range of normal. A substantial chunk of applications going back years never got an email update or never got an update until after passport was received; and this remains the case still.

Anyone used Rush My Passport in recent weeks? I'd prefer to use them rather than rely on USPS and the poorly run passport offices.

Can you email [email protected] to get any info about your passport status or is it only basic questions they can answer?

Got an auto reply with "This is the only reply you will receive to your email.". So I guess not :)

Services like this do not have a magical back door to the passport office. They claim to submit your passport application and have your passport in hand the next day, but I don't see how they can possibly make good on this promise, given that the State Department itself says their "...new process will ensure third-party services cannot book appointments."

I also recommend taking a look at the Better Business Bureau pages for Rush My Passport.

Oh that's interesting...I don't see why that would be an issue from their point of view. Not everyone lives near a passport center or can do a walk-in appointment. As someone who has had their passport lost by USPS, I would rather someone walk it in. That is disappointing.
