Upgrades when not the primary name on the PNR?

Upgrades when not the primary name on the PNR?
If my non-status fiancée books us both on an itinerary with her as the first passenger (i.e. she's paying), will I still get automatic upgrades? If not, can I still call and get them?

I would be prepared to call as soon as, or even a little while before your upgrade window opens to make sure it is processed.
I have called with separate PNRs and received the U/Gs with out problems as long as there was availability.
