Frequent Flyer Award to Costa Rica (only 30K miles and $35 in tax!!)

While everyone is complaining about their inability to cash in their miles on US Airways I have a great story:

I had 10,000 miles in my US Airways account just sitting there for a year or so. I got a offer from Mastercard and they told me they would give me 50,000 points if I got the card and charged $750 dollars in 90 days and did a balance transfer. I now had 60,000 US Airways Points.

I easily made a reservation on US Airways to San Jose Costa Rica using their off peak 30K miles offer and only had to pay $35 a piece in taxes.

What a deal. Anyone else get lots of miles for doing not much of anything?
