$1.79 purchase to keep miles
US Air sent me an email that because I haven't used them recently, as of 12/31/06, I will lose my accumulated miles. The email said I could make a purchase at a partner site to keep the miles. I bought a $1.79 pen at office max online (free delivery). Will that keep my miles intact? Thanks. Other ideas?

At least you got an email. My mother just lost 15,000 miles last month with no warning at all, and she isn't very happy about it.
She doesn't fly too often, but I can assure you she will never fly US Airways again.
