Is this offer still available what with the (Red card?) merger?

Edited to add, yes it is and I just applied through the link on the USAirways.com arrival page.

Edit #2 Just read the post from phlwookie that it appears the merger will happen next month, so if anyone else wants this offer they might want to jump on it quick.

I applied for and received his card in December 2014. I still have it. Can I get another one now and an additional 50K? Do I need to cancel the current one first?

Hi all

Quick question, where on my Barclaycard USAirways account screen can I check to make sure they tied it to my correct USAirways account ?

Thanks

None that I found. Try messaging customer service. My last card did not come with my US FF# on it (unlike my first card) so I was concerned. They confirmed the right FF# was on file with them.

How will it work to be credited 50k into our US DM accounts given that those accounts are going away this weekend? If we meet the 50k trigger after this weekend, will they know to dump our miles into our AA account?

I just got approved for the US airways barclays 50k miles card yesterday and it has not arrived yet. With the recent early merger of the programs, will I be able to still make that first purchase and pay the $89 annual fee next week and still get those Dividend miles?

I maxed out the referral promo that ended in January (refer 5 friends, they each get 50K and I get 10K each). Referred 5 friends, all 5 applied through my link before the promo ended, all 5 were approved. Last month, only 40K posted to my account.

I called Barclays a few weeks ago to figure out what happened to the remaining 10K. They opened a case number for me. No follow-up since, so I called back today.

Rep told me I was denied due to the investigation finding only 4 qualifying approvals and the case was closed out. I insisted that this was wrong, that no one contacted me about this unilateral decision, and that I was at least due an explanation and ability to adjudicate with a decision-maker. Was transferred to "rewards specialist" who was decidedly not someone with any power, just repeated the "too bad" party line.

Finally spoke to his supervisor, who said that someone (either me or one of my referrals) didn't abide by the promo terms. Thus, the decision was final, and all he could offer was 2K miles as goodwill. I said the only acceptable outcome is to be awarded the full 10K miles, since I clearly referred all of these new customers and ensured that everyone fastidiously followed the promo terms by using my link and getting approved on-time. I pleaded that, if the IT forensics of the case are cloistered and I have no way of disproving the supposed evidence which everyone at Barclays so far has refused to specify, I should simply be due the 10K miles as a goodwill gesture.

He opened a new case for me and pledged that someone will follow up. I asked him to please make clear that I want this case to go down the customer service track and not back to the rewards desk, since the "computer says no" attitude has caused me to hit a brick wall regarding the mechanics of the promo itself. I'm not optimistic about the ultimate outcome.

Has anyone else encountered this? If I'm still denied based on the second case, can I further adjudicate directly with post-merger AAdvantage?

I have the same question/concern.

I too was approved the same day for the same type of card/offer. I was told by a supervisor they would open a DM account for me and that the 50k bonus offer still applied. We shall see. Let us know of your experiences.

View from the Wing post with interview with Suzanne Rubin, includes:
The Barclays co-brand credit card will remain available for application through the published dates of the final acquisition communications – e.g. April 12 or April 17 as various links have published – even though the Dividend Miles program will have ended.

Thanks! Informative blog article. Presumably our bonus miles are protected.

With the eventual conversion to the Aviator's Card (several different types), it is not clear to me which card type the Premier World MC converts to (Silver, Red or Blue).

Info indicates that current holders will be auto-converted to the Red, except for a few HVCs who will be "chosen" to get the Silver. The Blue will require you to call Barclays. Of course, everything is subject to change with Barclays.

Similar concern here... Made the first payment and paid AF last month but have yet to see the 50k miles post to my Div account. Currently my DM balance is zero, and my concern is the text on the home page describing how US will create an AAdvantage account for me. I can picture US either deleting my zero miles account number on the 28th before the CC bonus is applied, or creating another AAdv account under my name when I already hold one.

Main issue is there is no way to show tangibly that I have the 50k bonus forthcoming. If experience with mergers has taught us anything it's that the "don't worry, it will go smoothly" is the last thing we should expect...

Thanks for the info. I wouldn't mind getting the Silver card and getting Global Entry for free.

I've noted which supervisor I spoke with and have also taken a screenshot of the webpage offer on the day I signed up/was approved.

Unhappy Card arrived today. But not much else!

My card arrived today, but no DM account was created.

Nor did I receive the Companion Certificates or the Day Pass. Are these sent with the card? Or do they arrive later?

Speaking with Barclay was a vast waste of time. When I asked whether the card was linked to a frequent flyer number (US or AA), the agent said to check with US. Normally there is an account number located under your name on the card. Only a blank space where the account number should be.

When I asked about the Companion Certificates or the Day Pass-- I was asked whether I was certain these were promised card benefits. Well yes, the welcome letter lists these. In that case "check with US."

When I called US, they said no account had been created. It does not seem possible to reach anyone at DM anymore as it transfers to a general AA number.

So far I'm not at all impressed with Barclay's customer support. And I do not plan to pay the annual fee if the bonus and benefits promised do not materialize.

I will be interested to learn if others who recently applied for this card encounter the same or better experience.
