Dividend Miles Chairman level
I just learned that one can purchase Chairman status from US Airways for cash. Has anyone tried this?

I've used the buyup from a closer level before. It works.
I wouldn't buy up straight from zero. Its 1000 less to buy up with at least 1eqm.
You extract the most value from being a chairman by flying a lot (and on US) but I keep finding myself on partners and not on us enough.

Agree - Gold upgrade chances are quite good and on other Star carriers you will be treated the same (Star Gold - equivalent of Elite Plus on Sky Team) regardless if Gold or Chairman.
