Star alliance booking for interisland flights in hawaii
Hi
I am a beginner in miles and points. I need to book two round trips inter island flight between HNL to LIH ( nov 20-nov27). Used AA points to book the round trip flight from LAS to HNL but did not book the inter island flight right away(big mistake) Now AA shows that there are no award avaliablity on those dates( or even flexible dates).
I look at united award and it shows availability on those dates for 5000 points one way on Hawaiian airlines. I only 5k united points and I have 5k US airways points. Can't I call US airways and book this one one-way flight. The fact that united is showing availability doesn't it mean it should also be available to book from US. I am hoping I can book at least one round trip using both US and united miles. I called US airways but the CSRs don't make sense at all. They said there is no availability. Also one of the CSRs was saying i need minimum 25k miles to book any flight on partner airline. I don't know how knowledgeable they are.
I'd really appreciate any help. This is for my honeymoon.

An inter island award ticket on HA costs 10'000 US Dividend miles in economy class <chart>. That's for roundtrip, US does not have oneway award tickets.
You could buy the missing US miles, 6000 miles cost you with the 100% promo $105 + taxes. You could also buy up missing UA miles...
I don't know if it is worth to use miles for inter island flights. You could buy a roundtrip ticket for $150 on Mesa Airlines or $170 on Hawaiian...

sorry my bad i meant november not september(updated my main thread). united shows availability nov20-nov 27
