I just got this as well. I was getting ready to post the same thing you did. It's great that US has pleasant surprises like this occasionally!

I'm interested to gauge the reactions of paid members (of which I am one) if every single Preferred was offered a free 90 day trial.

Could someone post the fine print to the letter?

Fine Print Below

Terms & conditions: *90-day membership can only access US Airways Clubs. 90-day members will not get printed membership cards. Access club facilities by presenting a valid government-issued ID or referencing your membership number. Memberships are non-transferable. All US Airways Club rules apply.

**Nominal pricing in the Philadelphia (PHL) and Pittsburgh (PIT) clubs is mandated by state law.

My membership has expired on 4/1. I have not received the e-mail yet and I am US Gold. Perhaps they want to see if I renew? I am waiting for my CO PC membership to expire before I renew. I fly US more than CO so the US membership is worth more to me.

I was hoping to be able to get into Continental's clubs, too. Oh, well...can't have everything. I just noticed that US only has two clubs outside the eastern time zone.

Any idea if the trial is specified for 4/12/10-7/12/10, or can you start your trial whenever you'd like?

Yes, I got it as well.

I was soft-landed to Silver on US, though I rarely fly them anymore (one flight YTD).

Just in time

I just got this email too. I have a 4 hour layover in CLT on Wednesday so it couldn't have come at a better time.

Effective immediately which would seem to imply valid till 7/12
