I'm SP and have been upgraded about 50%, but never actually at the one-day window (I travel with a friend w/o status). ALl the first class seats into MSY were booked by paying customers a few weeks ago. I sat next to a CP who was pretty POd. I thought it was great that US can still fill a plane!
