Seat availability
Hi,
Im flying next week IAD-LAX on a A320. I managed to get seats in MEL before i left (they gave me row 9 which i belive is E+ and I have no status yet
). Then just before i left i had to change my return from the US. I didn't manage to get seats there, but UA here in the UD for some reason can't/won't give me a seat in advance and i checked a seat map on ual.com, and it also can't show me anything. Any other flight yeah, but not UA 191 -July 15 IAD-LAX. I know a exit row was requested in MEL but they can't confirm that till i check in (im about 6'2, so E+ would be a great help for a 5 hour flight.)
any ideas?
thanks
goodo

Seems like there are only middle seats left for pre-assign on that flight (8B, 9BE, 16B, 20E). So I would say arrive at the airport early and see whether you can grab the exit row (if it's still available). You should keep calling UA once in a while and see whether they'll open it up for you. As far as I know, if you don't have any staus, they'll tell you that seat is taken. You must have gotten lucky when you got the exit row the first time.
Do you have any status yet?

Thanks empress for your reply. I called UA before my flights and they could only give me row 21, a window i think.
I flew LGA-IAD, and once in IAD i had a few hours to kill, and the gate wasn't opened, so i went to the UA service center and asked to change my seat to closer up front, they said no window or aisle available, but middle row 9, so i took it for E+. Now that was a good flight!
Once today's flights post, i will be premier. When would i expect to receive my premier card?
goood

Did anyone ever tell you that when the agent "requests the exit row or whatever" that in all probability no one will ever read that note?
And if some agent does, it will be after the requested seats are already gone.
Those words about a request are usually just to comfort the customer.
