Best way from DEN to BOG

My girlfriend has a week long training/conference in BOG (Bogota, Colombia) during the last weekend of april. As a MP member and a long-time *Alliance guy based out of DEN, im wondering the best way to get down there and spend a long weekend with her. I'm thinking of leaving Thurs 4/27 after 6 and returning on Sunday 4/30.

Any *Alliance folks made the trip lately? Suggestions when traveling to SA? Its too bad UA doesn't have more coverage in south america, Varig just doesnt cut it..

Thanks,

JJ

PS. I hope this is the appropriate forum for this type of posting.

I did some poking around...

...and unless flying *A is worth paying a considerable premium to you, you're probably best off flying CO or AA. This looks like a classic case for using miles!

Not very convenient with *A... if you insist on going on *A, the travel inconvenience seems too much for a weekend.

I think the only *A option is AC if you go via YYZ which they fly like 2-3x a week...

Furthest to Central America on UA Metal?

How close to Panama City, or ultimately Bogata, can I get on UA metal?

And if not on the metal, on *A?

I'm speaking at a conference in Bogota sponsored by COPA, which means they only want me flying COPA. But that does me no good... no red carpet, no upgrades, no desperately needed EQMs (as we all can understand).

So If I get to Panama City on UA/*A, then COPA (based there) to Bogata, that might help. I don't think any *A can get me to Bogata.

The CO alliance would do the trick, but we aren't linked with them and I leave in May.

Departing SFO...

Help?

It's really not that far out of the way, since BOG is still east of YYZ, and it's in the routing. Best option for the OP.

*A to BOG?

Planning a trip next month to Bogota, Colombia on September 7th but it doesn't seem as though UA/US or *A flies to BOG. Would like to accrue miles during the trip. Any thoughts or possibilities on how to do this?

Thanks
