What should I do? Lost DayTimer

In January, I was taking a vacation to SIN. During the stopover in NRT, I left my DayTimer in the terminal. As soon as I landed in SIN, the paged me and notified me that they found my DayTimer. They offered me two options:

1. Pick it up at NRT on the return leg
2. Have them fly it to SIN and I pick it

Silly me, I picked option number 2 because the DayTimer had my Hotel Certs. in it. Well, my friends turned my SIN trip into a KL trip and I did not return to the SIN airport until the day of my return flight. I inquired about my DayTimer and was told that the office was not open yet (Early flight) and I should call "Lost Luggage" on my return to SFO. They would send my DayTimer to SFO and I could pick it up.

This is what I have done since then...

- Called "Lost Luggage" 800 number
- Waited two weeks
- Called SFO (Only answering machine)
- Visited SFO, nothing there, filled another report
- Again Called "Lost Luggage" 800 number and operator encouraged me to "Give Up"
- Called "LL" number and ask that they forward message to SIN and NRT checking on status. They refuse. Upon my request, they do provide me with SIN and NRT phone numbers.
- Called NRT. Excellent service! I was notified that my DayTimer was boxed, tagged with a tracking number, and sent to SIN. They provided me with the tracking number and date it was sent.
- Tried to call SIN. (Always busy)
- Called "LL" asked for another SIN number. They have none.
- Tried to call SIN. (Still Always busy)
- Looked on http://www.unitedairlines.com.sg and found another number.
- Called new SIN number. They have no record of the tracking number I was provided with by NRT.

Now What? In my DayTimer, I had an unused United ticket, 3 free nights at Marriott Cert, my checkbook, my Birth Cert. and numerous other items of personal value. If I had just lost it, I would upset with only myself. But I am fustrated that United had it "in their hands" and now cannot find it. I am also upset with lack of support from the "LL" number. It was inferred by the "LL" that they have "this problem" with SIN!?!?
So what should I do next? I have this strange feeling that the boxed DayTimer is sitting in some corner of the SIN airport. Time for a SFO>SIN mileage run?

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Call the 800 lost luggage number and ask for a supervisor. Tell them you would like them to contact SIN and you would be more then happy to wait while they do so. If nothing is accomplished, tell the supervisor that since UA had it in their possession at one time, as evidenced by the expedite tag number u have, they are now responsible for it's loss. Tell them that since they lost it, you have no choice but to file a claim against them for the value of your documents contained inside. This should at least get them moving in the right direction.
