When do systemwide upgrades post?

When do systemwide upgrades post?
I have a friend that is the verge of getting 1k. I do not remember if your swu post right when you cross or if you have to wait until January. Can anyone shed some light on this?

SWUs post in January. This past year, United allowed some of the SWUs to post in November.

The only SWUs that come more quickly are the ones you get for hitting Million Mile status, and the ones for the EQM thresholds of 150K, 200K, etc.

To get the additional eqms at 150k, does it need to be actual BIS miles or any eqms will do? I know that for e500s, it has to be 10k BIS miles. My credit card EQM miles did not get applied. Any insight?

If you purchased UA flites on the web using a UA miles card you should "eventually" get your EQMs. I would email Chase if it doesnt occur. Make sure you didnt have an agent involved in the transaction, however, as this will have made it EQM ineligible.
