BUF- LAS Advice (Input)
Alright so I am looking at a trip from BUF-LAS next month and this is what I found.
Depart:
BUF-IAD = 1125
IAD-MSY = 2149
MSY-LAX = 3758
LAX-LAS = 1125
Return:
LAS-DEN = 1411
DEN-PHL = 3488
PHL-CLT = 1125
CLT-BUF = 1229
All of the total miles include the elite status bonus, the DEQM promo but does not include any class of service bonus due to getting cheap tickets.
The total cost of the trip would be $253.30 all but the PHL-CLT and CLT-BUF segments are on United metal and the other two are operated by US Airways.
I guess I am trying to find out if this is a good deal, if I am calculating the miles correct and if I would get the DEQM on the flights operated by US Airways? I know that has been discussion on this before but am unable to find the thread.
If my fellow FTers find anything that is better I would love some input, as this is my first MR.
Thaks in advance for your assistance... Safe Travels!
Josh

Also, remember no 2P bonus on DEQM (you do still get your RDM bonus).
I see your total is around 15,400. I get 12603.

Even 12,603 is not to bad. It puts me less than 500 from re-qual and I still have monthly trips left for a possible 1P run.
If the price is right maybe I MR all the way to 1P and hit my goal for the year.

As one of those pesky YYZer's always cluttering up BUF thought I would take the opportunity to try to help out a Buffalonian.
I suspect that this should have been posted in the Mileage Run Discussion forum, where the stickies provide more than you ever wanted to know about MRs.
I think your calculations are for RDMs when I imagine your main interest is EQMs.
A quick ITA search for May (3-4 day duration) shows some dates for $240ish BUF-IAD-LAX-LAS-LAX-IAD-BUF on all UA metal which nets out to 13120 with DEQM (according to webflyer mileage calculator).
If not already familiar, OP should follow the ITA Route Language link in the MR sticky ('specially in these DEQM times, O:: is your friend to find United operated flights).
Hope this helps.
