United Risin...or falling?

Fear overtakes me...not only by the absolutly horrific and cowerdly acts of Tuesday, but of its aftermath. I am afraid that the *******ly terrorist will win this war on the US. United had already planned on losing $2 Billion this year, not to mention the hudreds of millions lost alone this week due to the FAA groundings.

I just read an article on NYTIMES.com (I'll get the link and redo this post- DONE!), saying that United will be taking its flights down to 1900 a day. A very scary thought, considering thats about half of the 3400 flights a day on Monday.

Is this permanent? Will this last, or will the add the flights back on, slowly?

Now they are saying that 20-25 747-400's will be retired. Is this due to the attacks? Will they be replaces?

Otherwise it looks like all of us hoping to work with UAL are out of luck !

Another freighning thought, the $40 Billion government package has no money specificated for the airlines! The airlines are now making a plea for money to the government. If we don't help, they will go out of business, says Continental Airlines CEO, in this article. That will also put Boeing out of business, along with Airbus, that is over a million jobs...we cannot let this happen! Ladies and Gentlemen, we ar living history, and we have the chance to write it correctly. G-d Bless America...my prayers go to the families and friends of those lost.

PERSONAL QUOTE : At 8:47am, we lived in a world of peace, and happiness. Americans went on about their own business, fighting within the country with one another. At 8:48am, an American Airlines plane hit the World Trade Center, the US, along with all countries, entered a new world in which we can never leave. In an instant, we were bonded together. Lines around corners to donate blood, an overflow of volunteers, people dying, literally, to save others. THIS IS AMERICA, it is just unfortunate that it has to come to this in order to see what our ideals are all about. American we stand, 1 for all, and all for one. God bless America, I think, as I patriotically drive through neighborhoods with houses flying, very proudly, the symbol of freedom, the American flag! We will make it...We will!
